Pushing Ilford HP5+ and Rodinal

Did my first try of pushing film, pushing Ilford HP5 plus to ISO 1600 - from box-speed of 400. Hoping for some of those punchy results I see online and maybe a bit better handling of the Swedish dark winter lighting.

I developed the film in Adox Rodinal 1/25 for 12 minutes. I usually use 1/50 concentration for iso400 but I wanted the results quickly so I went for 1/25! 😀 The results are quite good, maybe I'll try to add a minute next time to get it even crunchier.

I think I got really good results. The only mistake, which thankfully is easily remediated, was that I changed the shutter speed on the scanning camera for some shots that seemed too underexposed. That is not the way to do it, all frames should be scanned with the same settings. The photos i scanned with faster shutter speed had much less contrast so I'll re-scan those with the same settings as the rest.

For reference I "scanned" on iso100, F8, 1.3 seconds on the digitaLiza.

Most of the exposures this time was portraits and I don't like to post photos of humans online. Next roll will be pushed as well and hopefully more post-able content.
