I set the camera to overexpose by two stops ( I know that counters the ISO setting but that is how I choose to do it 🤓). The only mistake, which thankfully is easily remediated, was that I changed the shutter speed on the scanning camera for some shots that seemed too underexposed. I used the built in light-meter and histogram to adjust the shutter-speed, sometimes even between frames/exposures. I have found that this is not the right way.\nTo begin with i stepped the light up to 6 of 10 – the difference being quite clear – I think I get more details out of the negative this way. These images are still with the JCC light and as can be seen on the images I have a problem with the alignment between the camera and the negative. The negatives does not stay flat enough either.\nThe DigitaLIZA+ The upgrade!\nThe DigitaLIZA+ just has one light setting but the LED seems to give a more consistent and natural-coloured light.\nThe scanning process is a lot quicker in this than in the previous light-rig. You just feed the negative through and scroll to select the next frame. Again it is processed in Darktable – I still haven’t got my head around what I want to do in post-processing and much less how to achieve it.\nAs for the camera it seems to have great build quality and the auto-focus does a great job. Going from f/2.8 to f/16 in aperture is something I appreciate a lot coming from full auto cameras. Loading the film is straight forward (though I think you need to take extra care that the film aligns with the single advancing sprocket.) as is rewinding.\nManual focus is just zone-focus but that lends itself to old-school shooting. The flash works as intended and delay on the shutter is another really great feature!\nAll in all, first impressions are great and I hope that will stay true in the
